Puppy Wellness Programs

We offer 2, 3, or 4 visit programs depending on the age of your puppy. Each visit includes a comprehensive exam and nail trim. Four Visits program starting at  6-8 weeks old.

1

First visit

At your puppy’s first visit, they will be screened for intestinal parasites and receive dewormer, a bag of training treats, and the first dose of the DAPPv vaccine series.

  • Distemper: a disease that spreads virally and attacks various bodily systems of your pets, including the nervous and respiratory systems. It also affects physical areas such as the teeth, eyes, foot pads, etc. It often results in fatal conditions and can lead to life-long problems.
  • Adenovirus: the virus is divided into two types. Type 1 is hepatitis which is a life-threatening disease. Type 2 is a condition that causes respiratory and ocular disease.
  • Parvovirus: a virus that results in serious diarrhea and vomiting that can lead to death. It attacks growing cells rapidly. The virus causes an infection that could end up fatal unless it is treated intensively.
  • Parainfluenza:  Another viral disease that primarily affects the lungs, trachea, and sinuses.  Parainfluenza is a common cause of coughs, colds, and nasal discharge in dogs and is highly communicable.

Second visit (9-11 weeks)

At their second visit (9-11 weeks), they will receive the second dose of the DAPPv series. We will provide your puppy with a puppy pack, which consists of products for heartworm and flea/tick control.
3

Third visit (12-14 weeks)

The third visit (12-14 weeks) will consist of your puppy receiving their first Leptospirosis vaccine, and the third dose of the DAPPv series.

  • Leptospirosis is a bacterial disease spread through the urine of an infected animal. The infection can also get into water and soil surviving there for weeks to months. Infected dogs are likely to have been in contact with water contaminated by rat urine, typically by swimming in standing water or drinking from puddles.

Also at the Third visit, we highly recommend getting the first Lyme vaccine and a Bordetella vaccine (at an additional price)

  • Lyme disease is an infection caused by the Borrelia burgdorferi  (Tick) Lyme disease is transmitted through the bite of an infected tick and can affect many species, including dogs and humans. The disease is more common in certain areas of the United States, including the Northeast, mid-Atlantic states, and upper Midwest.
  • The Bordetella vaccine (injectable, oral, or nasal) is an annual kennel cough vaccine that provides proven protection.

Rabies is a viral infection of the nervous system that mainly affects carnivores and bats, although it can affect any mammal. It is caused by the rabies virus. It causes sudden, progressive inflammation in the brain and spinal cord. Once clinical signs appear, it is fatal.

After finishing either the three-visit or four-visit puppy program, your puppy will be eligible to receive a free microchip when spayed or neutered at our clinic.
